Scheduled Increase in Section 232 Tariffs on Upholstered Furniture, Kitchen Cabients, and Vanities are Delayed One Year

On December 31, 2025, President Trump issued a proclamation to delay the scheduled increase for the Section 232 tariffs on upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities.

Upholstered chairs and seats classified under 9401.61.4011, 9401.61.4031, 9401.61.6011, and 9401.61.6031 were scheduled to have the section 232 tariff increase from 25% to 30% on January 1, 2026.

Kitchen cabinets and vanities classified under 9403.40.9060, 9403.60.8093, and 9403.91.0080 were scheduled to have the section 232 tariff increase from 25% to 50% on January 1, 2026.

With the proclamation, the section 232 tariff will remain at 25% for the remainder of the year. The increase is now scheduled for January 1, 2027.
